境界標本 / Boundary Specimens は、土地や構造物のあいだに残る「境界」を、インスタントフィルムによって採集する写真作品です。

私が見つめるのは、明確に区切られていながら、時間の経過とともに曖昧になっていく場所です。柵、壁、段差、舗装の切れ目、管理された領域と放置された領域のあいだ。そこには、用途や所有、内と外、過去と現在が静かに重なっています。

本作では、1つの地点を複数枚のインスタントフィルムで撮影し、周辺環境、境界部、その向こう側や痕跡を並置します。それぞれの写真は単独の風景ではなく、観察対象を構成する断片として扱われます。

インスタントフィルムは、撮影された瞬間に一点物の物質として現れます。その即物性と不完全さは、境界という不安定な状態を記録するための標本箱のような役割を果たします。

境界標本 / Boundary Specimens は、風景の中に潜む分類できない領域を観察し、そこに残された時間と関係性を静かに採集する試みです。

Boundary Specimens is a photographic series that collects boundaries found between places, structures, and conditions through instant film.

I am drawn to sites that are clearly divided, yet gradually become ambiguous over time: fences, walls, changes in ground level, breaks in pavement, and the edges between maintained and neglected areas. In these spaces, function, ownership, inside and outside, past and present quietly overlap.

For each site, I photograph multiple viewpoints with instant film: the surrounding environment, the boundary itself, and the traces or space beyond it. Each image is not treated as an isolated landscape, but as a fragment within a larger act of observation.

Instant film appears as a unique physical object at the moment of exposure. Its immediacy, materiality, and imperfections allow it to function like a specimen case for recording unstable states of transition.

Boundary Specimens is an attempt to observe unclassifiable zones within the landscape, and to quietly collect the time and relationships that remain there.
